Turns out, I didn't find the power outlet for my laptop until I was getting off the plane, so I didn't take my laptop out in case I'd need it later. Which it turns out I do. Instead I spent the entire plane ride utilizing Korean Airline's extensive personal entertainment provided in the back of the seat in front of me. I watched like 5 movies and created a whole playlist of songs to listen to while I tracked the plane on the SkyMap and thought about what I'd be doing if I were home. It wasn't as boring as it sounds. My theory is that planes are like time vortexes. It is never as boring to spend hours on a plane as it is to spend hours anywhere else. I think your brain shuts down while you're on one, so you don't have to be doing as much all the time. Or something.
What I've seen of South Korea looks pretty much how I'd pictured it, which is an image entirely created by a children's book we used to have about Korean refugees who fled from Seoul on freight trains during the Korean War. All the pictures were of weary-looking people trudging through white snow against a gray, textureless sky. That's the sort of day it was today. The ground was thickly dusted with snow, the sky was nearly as white, and there was a blurring fog hovering along the ground blurring the horizon line.
There's some activity taking place at the gate, so I'm going to go check out the commotion. Just letting you know I got here safe and sound, no troubles at all. I'm such a savvy traveler!
